Fieldnoter turns your conversations into clear, organized text, fully on your iPhone. Your audio and transcripts stay on your device.

Getting started

  1. Open the Record tab and tap the circle to start recording, or tap Import a file to use an existing audio or video file.
  2. The first time you use a model, Fieldnoter downloads it to your device. This can take a few minutes, depending on your connection. After that it is instant.
  3. When the transcript is ready, tap Summary and action items for an on-device summary.

Common questions

The first transcription is slow.

The model downloads and prepares on first use. Later runs are fast.

Which model should I pick?

For transcription, Parakeet is fast and works well in many languages. For summaries, the "Richer" model gives the best balance, "Faster" is quicker, and "Built-in" is fastest and needs no download.

It says storage is almost full.

Open Settings → Storage → Manage storage. You can delete models you do not use and clear the model cache. Deleting a model frees the most space, and it downloads again if you switch back.

I bought the unlock on another device.

Open Settings and tap Restore purchase.

How do I lock the app?

Open Settings → Require Face ID.

How do I export?

Open a transcript, tap the share icon, and choose Text, SRT, VTT, JSON, and more.
